Thursday 12th February 2009
The 3 year old in Caroline is stamping her feet screaming (I am bored I want to keep going........) We have been in Shepparton for almost a month now - its a lovely park and town we just want to get moving................................ however we need to earn $$$$$ to keep moving.
Caroline decides to teach herself how to crochet - she is now making scarf's for everyone (our trip to Tassie maybe in winter brrrrrr) Laura has her scarf, and Racheals is half way finished.

Saturday 7th February 2009
Its 46.9 degrees and the wind is unbelievable.............. we have never in our lives experienced heat like this (even at Longreach) - its a very sad day for Victoria. The fires are approx 1.5hrs from us, the wind is blowing the fires Nth/East (we are Nth/West) its still very stressful and upsetting for those involved.
Sunday 8th February 2009
Caroline wakes at 3am to find the van smells of smoke - there is no fire around us, the entire sky is thick with smoke. The death toll is rising.

Saturday 24th January 2009
Well we leave Tumbarumba today and had planned to travel further south, that was until we tried to free camp and the fridge will not work on gas...........................mad We are now so over it....... we call into Benalla and have to pay a LOT OF MONEY at a caravan park as it is (yes you guessed it a weekend and also Australia Day weekend - What joy, what rapture) the park was not of 3 star quality either.....
Tuesday 27th of January 2009
We decide to head for Shepparton Victoria and try for work there - we can also get the toilet fixed (no its still not flushing, hey minor detail) and also get the gas situation sorted because not only does the fridge not work on gas, neither does the stove or oven - Oh Happy days!!!!!!!!
We book into the BIG 4 Shepparton East - its a great park with jumping pillow, giant chess, playground and a pool - the girls are in heaven once again.:D
We visit Glenrowan - the famous Ned Kelly country and the girls learn all about Ned, his family and his ways!!!
We get all the problems with the van fixed, Matt has tried the fruit picking here, however its not worth the $$$ paid, so he is working at a local dealership on the tools again - we will stay here till end of April, catch up on the girls home schooling (much to their disgust!!!), we are flying Jacob down for the Easter school holidays so we are looking forward to that.

Tuesday 6th January,
We arrive in Muswellbrook, we checked out the local free camp and not too impressed so we check into the Pinaroo Leisure park. Matt applies for 2 jobs as a mechanic with no joy. Matt noticed that the roof rack brackets on the cruiser are cracked (very dangerous as we carry the girls bikes up there as well as 2nd spare tyre) so we ring the place we purchased them from and they advise they will send new brackets, so we now have to wait for the new brackets to arrive..................................
We meet some really nice people in the park and the girls make some friends. We meet a fellow named Chris he is a nice guy, he is headed for Tamworth for the country music festival, he says he is an entertainer and spends most of the year up north working as a country and western singer. (Whilst free camping later at Dubbo with some others that are headed to Tamworth that Chris is actually Chris Callaghan - Pauline Hansons ex-boyfriend - we didn't believe it at first and googled it and sure enough there he was!!!! very small world!!).
Also whilst at Muswellbrook the toilet decides to give up the ghost and no longer flushes.................. hey at least its a Wednesday and I can phone the manufacturer re: getting it fixed WRONG................... they aren't open till Monday the 12th of January due to Christmas Hol's what Joy, what Rapture...............:|
Saturday 10th January,
We leave Muswellbrook and head for Dubbo

Saturday 20th December
We leave Toowoomba after getting the A/C fixed and spending a week with Matt's Aunty, cousin and other family members (great to catch up). We head for Stanthorpe to earn some money fruit picking!!!!!
We stay at Top of the Town caravan park - its a lovely park (one of the best we have been in) Matt gets a job picking plums for a lovely, local farming family. We stay here two weeks (over Christmas/New Year) Santa visited the girls in the van......... It gets quite cool here some days we even have jumpers on. We loved Stanthorpe and would consider settling there once we are done, having said that we still haven't seen VIC, TAS, SA & WA so who knows.
